Front End Sales Position

2 positions available starting mid January 2025. Saturday availability required.

As a member of the Different Blend Bakery team the Front-End Sales position will provide high-quality customer service. As a front-end representative, this position will help educate customers about the bakery’s offerings, assist in boxing and packaging their selections, and performing sales transactions.

Ideal candidates are outgoing service and team oriented people, with great attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.   The candidate must have reliable transportation, and the ability to stand or sit for long hours. We require a high level of personal polish in manner, dress, and professionalism.

Part-time position

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Daily opening/closing of cash register
  • Daily direct sales with customers; assisting customers in their purchases, bagging, boxing, and overall customer needs
  • Taking customer orders
  • Answering phone calls
  • Reading and measuring ingredients for recipes
  • Maintaining and restocking front end merchandise displays
  • Light housekeeping (dusting, glass cleaning of displays, trash disposal, bathroom cleaning, and other duties as assigned)
  • Stamping of gift bags, packaging of completed product, placing stickers on packaging, packaging items for shipping, and other duties as assigned
  • Managing inventory
  • Weekend work may be required

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Front end retail experience (not required but ideal)
  • Experience handling money (not required but ideal)
  • Must be capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and customers
  • Possess strong leadership, good communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work as a team and independently
  • Ability to sit or standing for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English

Baker Position

As a member of the Different Blend Bakery team the Baker position will contribute to daily production of bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, ice creams, candies, and other bakery products. Bakers must be able to produce high-quality desserts with an emphasis on detail, artistry, and consistency.

Ideal candidates are outgoing service and team oriented people, with great attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and knowledge of the fundamentals of baking. Candidates should have 1 year experience baking in a commercial bakery or be attending a culinary degree program. Candidates will be expected to work independently, follow recipes, and meet daily production needs. The candidate must be able to lift 50lbs, have reliable transportation, and the ability to stand for long hours. We require a high level of personal polish in manner, dress, and professionalism.

Tuesday – Saturday

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Contributes to day-to-day production in the bakery
  • Reading and executing recipes
  • Taking customer orders
  • Baking off products to keep front displays stocked
  • Maintaining and restocking front end merchandise displays
  • Washing dishes and cleaning kitchen area
  • Ordering of food and kitchen supplies
  • Managing inventory
  • Daily direct sales with customers; assisting customers in their purchases, bagging, boxing, and overall customer needs

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two years culinary education and/or 1 year commercial food industry experience.
    (Students currently working on their culinary degree are welcome to apply)
  • ServSafe certified
  • Must be capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and customers
  • Possess strong leadership, good communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work as a team and independently
  • Ability to withstand intensive work load such as:
    • Lifting 50 lbs
    • Large quantities of production
  • Ability to manage an inventory
  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
